Motumbo of the Searing Basin

Motumbo was born in the Lower Crucible, a region of the desert where the heat is so intense that the air shimmers like liquid fire. Raised among the Monks of the Solar Eye, he was trained in both combat and philosophy, learning that strength without wisdom is as dangerous as a storm without direction.

During the early years of Seth’s reign, Motumbo served as captain of the Sun Legions, tasked with guarding the sacred routes and the wells of water. However, upon discovering that the king was using the solar relics to fuel his corrupt magic, Motumbo renounced his rank and went into exile, carrying with him the Trident of Dawn, a spear forged in the embers of the first sunrise.

Now, Motumbo wanders the southern sands as a wise warrior-monk, guiding caravans and teaching young Drylanders the art of the spear and the discipline of the spirit. He is known for his calm even in the midst of battle, and for the phrase he repeats before every fight: "The light does not seek vengeance, only balance"
