Vharun, the Sunken Warden

Vharun was once a guardian of the estuaries, entrusted with maintaining the balance between the fresh and salt waters that nourished the riverside villages.
He swore to protect the sacred channels, but when a plague darkened the streams, he was accused of defiling the natural flow.
Desperate to restore purity, he entered the swamp with his ritual spear, yet the venom of the mire corrupted him before he could complete his task.

His final words were: “If I cannot cleanse the waters, then let them consume me.”
The swamp accepted his plea — but never released him.
His body was swallowed by the mud and reborn through the rotting roots.
